Dealing With The Shock of The New Normal

cookshill • Jun 26, 2020

When it comes to perpetuating life-altering changes, Coronavirus has really taken the cake.

It isn’t just one or two countries. All around the globe, the way that people live their lives has taken on a new look. Some of us are just going through the motions, some of us are making the best of it, and some of us simply aren’t coping with it. In this article, we will discuss how this impacts all of us.

People Are Dividing

Now that we have all spent months in quarantine and are well and truly aware that things aren’t going back to normal overnight, it’s getting tense. Many of us are simply trying to get by, doing what we can to bring back normal when the timing is right. Others are taking it very personally, sometimes questioning why the world has to be so out of sorts. Right now, there is a split between people who are taking every precaution and people who are absolutely over it. Neither side is happy, and no one is really sure what that means.

We Need to Adapt

A lot of the changes that we are facing here are pretty big. Many of us are wondering what comes next. Some people see a need to wear masks and revolt while others see a need to wear masks and turn it into a fun fashion opportunity. The fact is that things are changing, and we all need to get on board with that. It isn’t fun for anyone, but it is what we have to do to crawl back towards normal at a safe pace.

People Aren’t Happy

Whether you’re for the changes or against them, the fact remains that people aren’t happy. No one wants to spend time stuck indoors. Most of us would prefer to be able to visit our favorite restaurants day or night, or to be able to go outside without a mask. We want to see our friends and family. We are all mourning different kinds of loss and living through these hard times. Some of us are scared, others are frustrated. It’s a big change, and that is why it is more important than ever for us to treat each other well.

COVID-19 Is Reshaping Our World

COVID-19 is reshaping the world and it isn’t easy for any of us. As the world continues to change and we all adapt to these changes, it is important to remember that it is so much bigger than us. Practice self-love and spread kindness.

We all need to keep our minds and hearts open and treat each other well. 2020 has been a difficult year, but it is one where we can all come out stronger and more united. Use this as an opportunity to rise up and help the people around you. Be patient with yourself and with everyone else. You don’t need to be happy about it, you just need to play your part.
